About the Oeditrix

I’m Amy Gentry, a freelance writer pursuing a creative lifestyle in Austin, Texas. I have a PhD in English from the University of Chicago. I write fiction and nonfiction, sing my own songs, perform with my sketch troupe Every Girl’s Annual, and run a ladies-only dance group called Dance Dance Party Party. My interests include literature, feminism, film, television, all kinds of stories, old stuff, new stuff, and bustin’ a move.

This blog collects my critical thoughts and opinions about culture in one place. In this space I share my loves, air my grievances, and craft my disorganized thoughts into words. In addition to posting finished work, I use this blog to develop ideas for further writing projects, so I welcome any and all commentary and feedback. If you like what you see here, please contact me. I would love to collaborate on projects, contribute to your blog, or just expand my online community to include those who share my interests.

You can view my clips here and here. You can also find me on PinterestFacebook, and Twitter.
